Voters in Bel Marin Keys, the lagoon neighborhood on Novato's eastern edge, will fill two at-large seats on their Community Services District board on Nov. 3.

The candidates

Three people qualified, according to the Marin County Elections Department: incumbents Vincent P. Lattanzio and Steven Nash, and challenger Kevin Dugan. Ballotpedia's Marin County list shows the same three names in a vote-for-two race. The top two vote-getters win.

Why this small board matters

The district maintains the infrastructure that keeps the community's waterways working. In March 2024, voters approved Measure G, a 21-year parcel tax of $1,800 per taxable parcel, estimated to raise about $1.26 million a year and rising 2.5% annually, to maintain, improve and build infrastructure including locks and levees and to dredge the waterways, according to Ballotpedia. The directors elected this fall will help oversee how that money is spent.

How to vote

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Polls and vote centers close at 8 p.m., and mailed ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and arrive within seven days. You can check your registration and ballot status at sos.ca.gov/elections. California lets you register and vote the same day at a vote center.
