The formula
Score = points from confirmed incidents only, rounded, then capped between 1 and 100. Each confirmed arrest in the last 7 days: 10 points. Each confirmed arrest 8 to 14 days ago: 4 points. Confirmed enforcement activity with no confirmed arrest (for example, a school district or county confirming agents were present): 2 points in the last 7 days, 1 point 8 to 14 days ago. Each incident involving several people in one action, or a checkpoint: +8 (last 7 days) or +3 (8 to 14 days ago). Each confirmed large-scale operation (10+ arrests in one action, a multi-site sweep or a workplace raid): +25 (last 7 days) or +10 (8 to 14 days ago). Each distinct county with a confirmed incident in the last 14 days, after the first: +4. Rumors, unverified sightings and debunked reports: 0 points. Older than 14 days: 0 points.
Words under the number: 1+ No confirmed activity · 2+ Minimal · 10+ Limited · 30+ Moderate · 50+ Elevated · 75+ High. Last 7 days = Oct. 12 to Oct. 18; 8 to 14 days ago = Oct. 5 to Oct. 11. An incident counts only when a named news outlet or a named official or organization confirms it; social-media posts never count. The score is recalculated every time the site is rebuilt, so incidents lose points as they age.
