The Sonoma County Fire District board has three seats on the Nov. 3 ballot and four candidates.
The candidates
These are the ballot designations from the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters:
- Steve Klick, district director
- Gary So, district director
- Robert M. Briare, district director. The county lists no candidate statement from him.
- Richard H. Alpert, sculptor and filmmaker
Ballotpedia's Sonoma County page lists the same four names in an at-large race in which voters choose three.
How it works
Voters can mark up to three names. The three highest vote-getters win. Since three of the four candidates list themselves as current district directors, Alpert would have to finish ahead of at least one of them to win a seat.

How to vote
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Polls and vote centers close at 8 p.m., and mailed ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and arrive within seven days. You can check your registration and ballot status at sos.ca.gov/elections. California lets you register and vote the same day at a vote center.
