The Gold Ridge Fire Protection District covers much of west Sonoma County. Its board has one of the most crowded races on the county's Nov. 3 ballot: nine candidates for four seats.
The candidates
These are the ballot designations from the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters:
- David Warburg, district director
- Domenico Carinalli Jr., district director
- Steve E. Petrucci, district director
- Robert Gloeckner, district director
- Doug Jones, firefighter

What their statements say
In his ballot statement, Warburg wrote that he served on committees during the consolidation that folded twelve West County volunteer fire departments into today's Gold Ridge district. Petrucci wrote that he helped consolidate the Twin Hills and Freestone departments. Carinalli, who lists his occupation as farmer in his statement, wrote that he was a volunteer firefighter under the Hessel and Gold Ridge districts. Daniels wrote that she speaks Spanish, sits on the Bodega Community Board and wants the communities Gold Ridge has annexed to get timely emergency service.
Candidate statements are written and paid for by the candidates. The county prints them as submitted.
