Reed Union School District voters in Tiburon and Belvedere pick three of four candidates for the board on Nov. 3. Trustee Afsaneh Zolfaghari isn't seeking a third term, so at least one newcomer will join, The Ark reports.
The candidates
- Shelby Pasarell Tsai (Incumbent), board president and an attorney seeking a second term. She stresses academic rigor for every student.
- Mike Ghaffary (Appointed Incumbent), appointed in February to fill Sherry Wangenheim's seat. Ghaffary wants classroom-technology guidelines and long-term fiscal stability.
- Krupa Antani (Parent / School Volunteer), a former public-school teacher with three children in the district. She wants to test whether the district's intervention spending is producing results.
- Lina Godfrey (Nonprofit Director / Mother), a Tiburon disability-access advocate on the town's Diversity Inclusion Task Force. She also stresses academic rigor.
Candidate descriptions are from The Ark, and ballot designations are from Marin County Elections. The district is also asking voters for a $115 million bond, Measure O.
