Measure O asks voters in the Reed Union School District, which covers Tiburon, Belvedere and east Corte Madera, to approve $115 million in bonds to repair and upgrade the district's three schools: Reed and Bel Aire elementary schools and Del Mar Middle School. Ballotpedia says the district served 1,043 students in the 2025 school year.

What it costs

  • Estimated tax of $30 per $100,000 of assessed value at its peak, starting in fiscal 2027-28, or $300 a year per $1 million of assessed value. The district estimates an average of $26.63 per $100,000 over the life of the bonds, The Ark reports.
  • Raises about $6.2 million a year, according to the ballot question.
  • The district's tax rate statement estimates total repayment of $213 million in principal and interest. The tax would be collected for the last time in fiscal 2060-61.

What it would pay for

The Ark reports the district's needs include replacing portable classrooms, adding air conditioning on all three campuses, replacing failing clay-pipe plumbing and leaking roofs, and removing asbestos and mold. Portables at Bel Aire are roped off as unsafe. The measure requires a citizens' oversight committee and annual audits.

Support and opposition

Board president Shelby Pasarell Tsai wrote the ballot argument for the measure. Co-signers include the PTA president, Belvedere council member Jane Cooper and Tiburon council member Jack Ryan. No argument against it was filed with the county. Bay Ballot shows one tracked guide, Reform California, recommending no. District-commissioned FM3 polls found 59% support in October 2025 and about 62% in spring 2026, The Ark reports. The measure needs 55%.

Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Polls and vote centers close at 8 p.m., and mailed ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and arrive within seven days. You can check your registration and ballot status at sos.ca.gov/elections. California lets you register and vote the same day at a vote center.
