What Zillow shows

What it means for buyers and sellers

Petaluma prices are inching up, not jumping. Redfin and Zillow both put the typical home a little above or below $900,000, and both show modest gains from a year ago. Sales volume fell about 12%, so there were fewer homes to choose from, but buyers in Petaluma generally have more time to decide than in the South Bay. Compare with nearby Santa Rosa and San Rafael.

Redfin figures cover the three months through September 2026 and compare with the same period a year earlier. Zillow's Home Value Index is a typical-home estimate, not a sale price, so the two numbers measure different things and won't match exactly.
