Zephyr Grill & Bar has been a fixture of downtown Livermore for more than two decades, and it will close at the end of October. Owners Lynn and Randy Tei announced the closure on social media, the Livermore Vine reported. Diablo Magazine says the last day of service is Saturday, Oct. 31.
Why it's closing
The Teis had tried to sell the business without the Zephyr name, in a deal they hoped would "carry the restaurant forward." "Unfortunately, that path did not come together, and after much consideration, we have made the difficult decision that it is time to close this chapter," their post said, according to the Vine.
The restaurant opened on First Street in 2004. A small fire in its prep area in July 2025 kept it closed for months of cleanup, and it reopened in November 2025. Diablo Magazine noted the American bistro sits next to the Vine Cinema. "We gave it everything we had," the owners wrote.
Last chance to go
Through Oct. 31, Zephyr is open 3 to 9 p.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Fridays through Sundays, the Vine reported. "Come have your favorite Zephyr dish one more time. Raise a glass with us," the owners said in the post Diablo quoted.
Other locations stay open
The Teis also own Zephyr Grill & Bar in Brentwood and Smith's Landing Seafood Grill in Antioch. Both will stay open.
