Novato Unified School District, which Ballotpedia says served 7,247 students in 15 schools in the 2025 school year, has one contested board race on Nov. 3: Trustee Area 4.

The candidates

  • Abbey Picus (Incumbent)
  • Francis Drouillard (Registered Professional Engineer)

Bay Ballot shows Marin voter guides split two apiece. The Marin IJ, Mercury News and East Bay Times editorial board, as quoted there, wrote that "Picus' experience and knowledge are going to be valuable to the board as it navigates difficult financial shoals confronting Novato's public schools."

Uncontested seats

Marin County Elections lists incumbent Diane Gasson alone in Area 5 and Theresa Odisio Rogoff alone in Area 6.

Background: Novato Unified's $6.5 million deficit and cuts plan.
