San Francisco will have two outdoor holiday rinks this winter. Alongside the long-running rink in Union Square, a new one called San Francisco On Ice opens at Fisherman's Wharf on Wednesday, Nov. 4, and runs daily through Monday, Jan. 18, 2027. GoBayArea describes it as a 6,500-square-foot rink in its first season.
Where it is
The rink's visitor page places it directly next to the SkyStar Wheel and lists 2860 Taylor St. The same site's footer and the GoBayArea listing give 80 Jefferson St. Either way, look for the Ferris wheel. The rink suggests the Pier 39 garage (about five minutes away on foot), the Anchorage Square garage and the Wharf Garage. Most transit riders can take the F-line streetcar or the Powell-Hyde or Powell-Mason cable cars.
Prices and sessions
- Standard days: $23, with skating from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.
- Value days: $19, with skating from noon to 10 p.m.
- Skate rental is included. Sessions run 75 minutes and start every 45 minutes, with at least 60 minutes of guaranteed ice time.
- Skate Buddies, the push-along supports for kids and beginners, cost $15 a session. Lockers are $5 to $8.
Rain policy
The rink says it is open rain or shine. If conditions make the ice unsafe, closed sessions are rebooked for another date. It does not refund tickets for rain if the rink stays open. Socks are required with rental skates, and helmets are strongly encouraged for young children and beginners.
Comparing rinks? The Union Square rink charges $22 for adults and $17 for kids 8 and under. See our Union Square rink guide.
