The Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts at 2868 Mission St., near 25th Street, is holding a rummage sale on Saturday, Oct. 31, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Mission Local reports. The center closed earlier this year and is selling items that won't go into storage or its archive as it prepares to move.
What's for sale
Mission Local says shoppers will find duplicate prints from the center's printmaking studio, which dates to 1977, along with office, program and catering supplies. All sales benefit the center.
Why the center is moving out
San Francisco Public Works says the building is getting seismic and accessibility upgrades in a joint project with the African American Art & Culture Complex in the Fillmore. At the Mission center, the work covers strengthening walls, lobby areas and floor and roof systems; HVAC and electrical upgrades; a roof replacement and drainage work; and better entrances, sidewalks, signage and theater access.
Both centers are scheduled to be vacated by Dec. 15, 2026. Construction could start as early as January or February 2027 and is expected to finish in spring or summer 2028.
The sale falls on a busy weekend in the Mission. For more Día de los Muertos events, see our Día de los Muertos guide.
