The Ironhouse Sanitary District board has two at-large seats on the Nov. 3 ballot, and five candidates are running.
The candidates
- Chris Lauritzen, ballot designation: Incumbent.
- Paschal Iwuh, ballot designation: Engineer.
- Kerry Harvey.
- Chris A. Christean.
- Dave Corridon.
The county's list shows the designations Wastewater Manager CPO and Operations Manager for Christean and Corridon. Check your sample ballot for the exact wording next to each name.
The seats
The county lists two current directors: Christian August Lauritzen III, appointed in lieu of election, and Diego Armando Verduzco, appointed to a vacancy. Verduzco is not on the candidate list, so at least one seat will change hands.
What the district does
The district's mission is to safeguard public health and the environment with wastewater collection, advanced treatment and water reuse. It runs a residential and commercial recycled water fill station. The board meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at 6:30 p.m.
Ballot designations are the short job descriptions candidates chose for the ballot, as printed on the county's official candidate list. This explainer does not endorse anyone.
How to vote
Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3. Polls and vote centers close at 8 p.m., and mailed ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and arrive within seven days. You can check your registration and ballot status at sos.ca.gov/elections. California lets you register and vote the same day at a vote center.
