Hayes Valley's merchants turn Friday, Oct. 30, into a neighborhood Halloween night. Hayes Promenade lists Halloween on Hayes from 4 to 10 p.m.
The schedule
Project SF reports that from 4 to 6 p.m., kids in costume can follow the ghost window clings to collect treats from local shops, while Hayes Promenade has glowing sculptures, face painting, live music and bubbles. After a dinner break, PROXY at 432 Octavia St. screens Minions & Monsters outdoors from 7:30 to 9 p.m., with blanket spots open from 7.
The trail, promenade activities and film are free and open to all. A separate 21+ entertainment zone runs from 4 to 10 p.m. at participating bars and restaurants.
Getting there
Project SF notes that the 5, 5R, 6 and 7 Muni lines stop within a short walk, and Van Ness Muni Metro station is about seven minutes away on foot. Bring a picnic blanket for the movie.
More Halloween options are in our Nightmare on Front Street story, also tonight.
