Voters in El Granada and nearby Midcoast neighborhoods will fill three of the five seats on the Granada Community Services District board on Nov. 3. Four candidates are running at large, and the top three vote-getters win.

The candidates

Coastside News reports that the race includes incumbent directors Matt Allen and Barbara Dye and challengers Kevin Sniecinski and Patrick Tierney. Ballotpedia lists the same four names, with Sniecinski as Kevin W. Sniecinski. Coastside Buzz's filing-deadline table lists Allen as an appointed incumbent. It describes Sniecinski as a researcher and community advocate and says Tierney served on the GCSD Parks Advisory Committee. A third incumbent, Jen Randle, did not run again, according to the same table.

What candidates are talking about

In his Ballotpedia survey, Allen, a teacher, said he wants to finish the park on the Burnham Strip, expand recreation programs for Coastsiders and support periodic harbor dredging to nourish beaches and protect Highway 1 from erosion. The four candidates met at a forum at the district offices on Oct. 8, Coastside News reported.
