What Zillow shows

What it means for buyers and sellers

Redfin gives Castro Valley a Compete Score of 88, "very competitive." Homes get about four offers, the average home sells for about 4% over list, and hot homes go for about 9% over in around 11 days. Prices are flat, but far fewer homes sold, homes sold faster and price cuts fell, which points to tight supply rather than weak demand. See next door in our Hayward and San Leandro reports.

Redfin figures cover the three months through September 2026 and compare with the same period a year earlier. Zillow's Home Value Index is a typical-home estimate, not a sale price, so the two numbers measure different things and won't match exactly.
