Slice House by Tony Gemignani, the fast-casual pizza chain started by the North Beach pizzaiolo, opens its first Contra Costa County restaurant on Saturday, Oct. 17, 2026, at 2523 Sand Creek Road in The Streets of Brentwood outdoor mall, near the AMC theater. Opening-day events start at 11 a.m., with a Slice House T-shirt for the first 50 guests and a raffle for a chance to win free pizza for a year, according to the company's announcement, published by QSR Magazine and the Contra Costa Herald.

Hours and seating

The Brentwood shop will be open seven days a week:

  • Sunday through Thursday: 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
  • Friday and Saturday: 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

It has indoor seating for 26 people and patio seating for 20, plus takeout, online ordering and delivery.

Who owns it

The location is a franchise run by Nitin and Mansi Bhatia. It is their first restaurant. The announcement says they picked Brentwood for its close-knit, family-friendly community and growing dining scene. "As new members of the Brentwood community, we're especially excited to open a Slice House nearby and bring Tony's exceptional pizza to our neighbors," Mansi Bhatia said in the release.

Gemignani said he looks forward "to welcoming guests from across Contra Costa County to enjoy our artisan pizza during the grand opening celebration and in the years to come."

What's on the menu

Slice House sells New York, Sicilian, Grandma and Detroit-style pizza by the slice or as whole pies, along with pasta, wings and salads. There are gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options, and the drinks list includes craft beer, wine and non-alcoholic choices.

Each new Slice House gets two signature pizzas designed with its local owners. In Brentwood, both are New York-style slices built around local Brentwood corn, a nod to the city's farming roots, and both are sold by the slice only:

  • The Brentwood BBQ: pulled pork, barbecue sauce, mozzarella, Brentwood corn, corn tortilla strips, sweety drop peppers, green onions and garlic oil.
  • A Slice of Brentwood: a vegetarian pie with mozzarella, Brentwood corn, tortilla strips, sweety drop and serrano peppers, Tajin aioli and garlic oil. Its name came from the winner of a local pizza box design contest.

Where it fits

Gemignani opened the first Slice House in North Beach in 2010. The company says Brentwood will be its 38th location. His flagship, Tony's Pizza Napoletana in San Francisco, was ranked No. 2 in the United States and No. 5 in the world by 50 Top Pizza in 2026, according to the announcement.

The Streets of Brentwood, anchored by an AMC theater with IMAX, has added tenants during a recent renovation, including Dutch Bros Coffee, Pandora, Face FoundriƩ and Lovesac, with American Eagle coming, the release says. The mall sits near the Sand Creek Sports Complex and Highway 4.

It is one of several Bay Area openings this month, including the Grocery Outlet near Lake Merritt in Oakland on Oct. 22. Brentwood voters are also weighing a school bond this fall; see our Liberty Union Measure X explainer.
