The Bay Area's two big rail systems have released their remaining 2026 holiday schedules.

BART

  • Thanksgiving, Thursday, Nov. 26: Sunday service, 8 a.m. to midnight
  • Christmas, Friday, Dec. 25: Sunday service, 8 a.m. to midnight
  • New Year's Day, Friday, Jan. 1, 2027: Sunday service, 8 a.m. to midnight

Veterans Day is not on BART's holiday list, so expect regular weekday service on Nov. 11.

Caltrain

  • Veterans Day, Nov. 11: weekday schedule
  • Thanksgiving, Nov. 26: weekend schedule
  • Day after Thanksgiving, Nov. 27: modified schedule
  • Christmas Eve, Dec. 24: modified schedule
  • Christmas Day, Dec. 25: weekend schedule
  • New Year's Eve, Dec. 31: weekday schedule

Caltrain says modified-schedule timetables come out a few weeks before each holiday. Monthly Passes are good for unlimited trips across all zones on these holidays except Christmas Eve.

Also note: BART will run no trains between 24th St. Mission and Daly City on Nov. 14–15 for train control work, with a bus bridge in place.
