The Outer Sunset has a new place for pastries and sandwiches. Black Jet Luncheonette, from the owners of Bernal Heights' Black Jet Baking Co., is now open at 4033 Judah St. SFist reported that the space was once home to the well-known Trouble Coffee and that owners Gillian Shaw Lundgren and Max Newman took it over earlier this year. SFist gave the opening date as Oct. 23.
What's on the menu
The Infatuation listed the cafe Monday and said it has the bakery's pastries plus toasts and sandwiches you can only get at this location, including a PB&J, a turkey melt and a meatball grinder. SFist said the meatball grinder once appeared on the bakery's menu, and that the luncheonette will also have house-made pop tarts, cakes and a version of French bread pizza.
How it works
The Infatuation said it is takeout-only, with a large parklet outside for anyone who wants to stay. It's a short walk from Ocean Beach.
