Four people, including a juvenile, were arrested early Thursday after a chase that started in San Francisco and ended in a crash in San Leandro, the San Francisco Police Department said. KRON4 also reported the arrests.
What happened
At about 1:06 a.m. on Oct. 29, an automated license plate reader helped officers in SFPD's Real Time Investigations Center spot a suspected stolen car coming into the city from the Bay Bridge. Southern Station officers were alerted, and a drone was sent up to follow the car.
Police said the driver fled through city streets and then went back onto the Bay Bridge, continuing through Oakland and Alameda into San Leandro, where the car crashed into a guardrail. Officers caught the four after a brief foot chase, with help from California Highway Patrol air support.
The arrests
SFPD identified three of the suspects as Tyshun Lane, 19, Reiyon Jackson, 18, and Isiah Burns, 22, all of San Francisco. The fourth is a juvenile. They were arrested on charges including possession of an assault weapon, possession of an AR-15-style assault weapon, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a high-capacity magazine and felony evasion.
Police said the investigation is still open and the information is preliminary.
