San Francisco police have made arrests in two separate homicides from earlier this month in the city's southeast neighborhoods.

Thomas Avenue shooting

Around 5:11 p.m. on Oct. 1, officers responded to the 1100 block of Thomas Avenue in the Bayview, where they found a man with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital and later died, police said.

On Oct. 15, investigators arrested Jorge Alberto Mendoza-Hernandez, 44, of San Francisco on the 600 block of Gilman Avenue on a Ramey warrant. He was booked on suspicion of murder.

Wisconsin Street killing

Around 8:38 p.m. on Oct. 16, officers responded to the 1100 block of Wisconsin Street, where a male victim was found and later died, according to SFPD and SFGate. On Oct. 17, police served a search warrant on the 1800 block of 25th Street and arrested a juvenile suspect, who was booked at the Juvenile Justice Center. Police are not releasing his name because of his age.

Police said both investigations remain open. Charging decisions rest with the San Francisco District Attorney's Office, and the people arrested are presumed innocent.
