The San Francisco Standard calls Rikki's Women's Sports Bar a "mini-Ballhalla," saying it has become the main gathering spot for Valkyries fans watching their team on the road. If you want to watch with a crowd, here's what to know.
Rikki's
- Where: 2223 Market St. in the Castro.
- Regular hours: Tuesday–Thursday 3:30–10 p.m., Friday 3:30 p.m.–midnight, Saturday 11:30 a.m.–midnight, Sunday 11:30 a.m.–10 p.m. Special game-day hours are posted on its Events page and Instagram.
- Seating: first come, first served. The bar says it often hits capacity on game days and recommends arriving at least an hour before tip-off.
- The name: it honors Rikki Streicher, who ran queer and lesbian bars in San Francisco from the 1960s to the 1990s, sponsored women's teams through Maud's and Amelia's, and helped found the Federation of Gay Games.
