Vallejo's Costco is moving. The new warehouse at 860 Admiral Callaghan Lane is set to open Friday, Nov. 6, and replaces the store at 198 Plaza Drive, which opened in 1989, Secret San Francisco reports, citing Costco's website.

On Tuesday, workers were moving carts to the front of the building and installing security cameras at the 16-pump gas station, according to the Mercury News. Secret SF, citing the San Francisco Chronicle, reports that the station has 32 fueling positions, double the old one, and says developer Lewis Retail Centers expected the gas station to open as early as late October.

What's in the new store

At about 152,000 square feet, the store is bigger than the old one and has more parking. It also has a pharmacy, tire center, optical department and hearing-aid center. It anchors Fairview Plaza, a 51-acre mixed-use development where shop buildings for tenants including NorthBay Healthcare, Wells Fargo and Raising Cane's are still under construction.

"So excited for this new Costco in Vallejo," Nicole Hodge, owner of Provisions in downtown Vallejo, told the Mercury News.
