Prop G had 109,319 No votes (62.7%) to 64,776 Yes (37.2%), according to KQED. NBC Bay Area and ABC7 showed the same totals.

In 2024, San Franciscans voted to permanently close the oceanside stretch of the Upper Great Highway to cars, creating the park now called Sunset Dunes. KQED notes that while the measure passed citywide, most residents living closest to the park voted against it, setting off a yearslong fight over the west side road.

Prop G would have reopened the road to traffic on weekdays and kept the park car-free only on weekends and holidays. The lopsided No vote suggests the citywide majority that created the park has held.

Counting continues, but the margin is wide enough that it is unlikely to reverse.

All results are unofficial election-night and early-morning counts as of Wednesday, Nov. 4. Counties keep counting mail and provisional ballots for days, and certification comes later, so margins can shift, especially in close contests.
