Measure S, the Rent Stabilization/Tenant Protections Ordinance, had 2,159 yes votes (59.51%) to 1,469 no, according to NBC Bay Area, which said the county's key decisions included "a measure limiting rent increases in San Pablo."
Measure R, a temporary sales tax, had 2,605 yes votes (71.59%) to 1,034 no. ABC7 lists both measures in its Contra Costa results.
The rent measure passes as Redwood City voters rejected a rent control initiative, Measure E, by about 56% to 44%, according to NBC.
All results are unofficial election-night and early-morning counts as of Wednesday, Nov. 4. Counties keep counting mail and provisional ballots for days, and certification comes later, so margins can shift, especially in close contests.
