Rohnert Park police have arrested an office manager they say embezzled more than $180,000 from a business in the city, according to Bay City News and Patch.
What police say
Officers and detectives from the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety arrested Marie Catherine Weerts on Tuesday near Donahue Avenue in Santa Rosa. The department's Patrol Division opened the case on Sept. 30.
Police said the investigation also turned up evidence of other financial crimes, including forgery and check fraud. Weerts was booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility on suspicion of embezzlement, check fraud and forgery, Patch reported.
Police did not name the business. An arrest is not a conviction, and no charging decision has been announced.
