PG&E turned off power for safety to about 365 customers around 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, in small parts of Butte, Lake, Napa, Sonoma, Solano and Yolo counties, the utility said Saturday morning.

Why it matters: This week's first rain did not end fire season. Gusty north winds and dry air followed the storm into the North Bay hills, where brush is still very dry, PG&E said.

Who was warned

On Thursday, PG&E notified about 644 customers in seven counties that their power might be shut off. The estimated numbers included 16 in Napa County, 43 in Solano County and 6 in Sonoma County, along with Butte, Lake, Shasta and Yolo counties, according to PG&E and The Press Democrat.

Highs were expected to return to the mid-70s by Saturday, The Press Democrat reported, citing the National Weather Service.

When power comes back

Outage length depends on the weather in each area and any damage found. Crews patrol lines before restoring power, PG&E said. Customers can check their address at pge.com/pspsupdates, and Community Resource Center locations are posted at pge.com/crc.

The shutoff is much smaller than the Oct. 14-17 event, which put about 88,000 customers in 29 counties in scope.
