Peter Gabriel on Monday released "Who Are We Talking To?", the latest single from his upcoming album o\i, out Nov. 27.
Why it matters: The album is the companion to 2023's i/o, which hit No. 1 in the U.K., and completes a 25-track joint project.
A "plea for activism"
"So, this song is a plea for activism," Gabriel said in a post on his website, adding that issues like climate change, AI and pandemics "can't be effectively dealt with on a national level - only globally." He said its sound draws on Marvin Gaye, Fela Kuti and Curtis Mayfield, with Leo Nocentelli on guitar.
The first version out is the Dark-Side Mix by Mike Elizondo. The Bright-Side Mix arrives on the next new moon. The cover art is "Bloques" by Spanish artist Juan Genovés.
