Downtown Burlingame now has a Marufuku Ramen. The restaurant opened Sunday, Oct. 11, at 225 Lorton Ave., according to the Burlingame-Hillsborough Times. The Burlingame Chamber of Commerce promoted the grand opening.
The ramen
Marufuku specializes in Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen, a creamy pork-bone broth with thin noodles. Hoodline quotes Burlingame manager Yuki Sakakibara saying the broth needs careful time and temperature control to turn creamy. The chain also serves chicken paitan ramen, small rice bowls and Japanese appetizers, though offerings vary by location, the Times notes.
Hours
The Burlingame-Hillsborough Times lists Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 5 to 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
The chain
Marufuku was founded in Japantown in 2017. It has since expanded across California and into Texas. Other Peninsula locations are in Redwood City and Palo Alto. Hoodline notes that the Palo Alto shop at 374 University Ave. held its grand opening in July, and a Dublin location opened in March.
