The Livermore Area Recreation and Park District (LARPD) runs local parks and recreation in the Livermore Valley. Three board seats are on the Nov. 3 ballot, and voters can choose up to three candidates.
The candidates (vote for three)
- Maryalice Summers Faltings, incumbent
- Philip Pierpont, incumbent
- Timothy Barry, retired general manager
- Larry Bird, retired police sergeant
- Matt Bogdanowicz, recreation manager
- Mike Ralph, bike shop manager
- Laureen Turner, nursing professor
The backdrop
In March 2025 LARPD sued the East Bay Regional Park District, claiming the larger district misspent more than $100 million in property-tax revenue the two have shared from eastern Alameda County since 1992, The Independent reported. The case remains in litigation and has become an issue in the EBRPD Ward 5 race.
Livermore voters also decide the City Council District 2 race and school board seats.
