Pianist Hélène Grimaud plays a solo recital at Davies Symphony Hall on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m., part of the San Francisco Symphony's Great Performers Series.
The program: "The Last Testament"
Grimaud's own calendar lists the recital under that title. It pairs two composers' final piano sonatas:
- Beethoven, Piano Sonata No. 32 in C minor, Op. 111
- Schubert, Piano Sonata No. 21 in B-flat major, D. 960
The San Francisco date falls in the middle of a fall tour; her schedule lists St. Catharines, Ontario, on Nov. 6 and Athens on Nov. 16.
Tickets
Tickets are sold through the SF Symphony box office and website. Davies Symphony Hall is at 201 Van Ness Ave., a short walk from Civic Center BART.
Later that month in the same series: violinist Hilary Hahn performs with baritone Matthias Goerne and pianist Yekwon Sunwoo on Nov. 30, including a new work by Reena Esmail commissioned by the Symphony, according to the season calendar.
