Sausalito's Halloween night is small, free and all on Caledonia Street. Sausalito Parks and Recreation runs it with the Caledonia Street merchants and local community groups. This year's event is Saturday, Oct. 31.
The schedule
5 to 5:30 p.m.: Carved pumpkin drop-off. Bring a carved pumpkin to Robin Sweeny Park. LED tea lights are welcome if you want it to glow for judging. Only 26 pumpkins can enter. Voting runs until 7:30 p.m., and pumpkins should be picked up between 7:30 and 8 p.m.
5:45 p.m.: Parade lineup at the Station 1 firehouse at Johnson and Caledonia streets.
6 p.m. sharp: The parade. Kids trick-or-treat at participating businesses and homes along Caledonia on the way. The parade ends around 6:15 p.m. at Trick-or-Treat Lane, on the Robin Sweeny Park basketball courts, where sponsors hand out treats.
6:30 p.m.: Howl'O'Ween dog costume contest at Litho and Caledonia streets. It is free and you don't need to register. Winners of the pumpkin contest are announced at the end.
