San José Spotlight reports that Skater Things, run by Mikey Gaeta and Yanessa Cruz at 7050 Monterey Road, wants to move into a roughly 20,000-square-foot building down the street at 6920 Monterey Road so it can open a full skating clubhouse.
What the city says
City spokesperson Rachelle Bedell told the Spotlight that the business license was issued for appointment-only skate instruction and retail, but the business has been operating as a rink. Getting the bigger building approved for that use is the sticking point. The owners, who launched in July, told the outlet they are also eyeing a site in Morgan Hill if Gilroy doesn't work out.

The business's own hours page lists weekly themed sessions, including Halloween costume contests, a $55 Sunday family deal that covers three kids plus rentals, and an 18-and-over adult night. Check the page before you go, since sessions change week to week.
