The San Jose Earthquakes play their final home game of the regular season on Halloween. They host Real Salt Lake at PayPal Park on Saturday, Oct. 31, with kickoff at 2 p.m.

The stakes

RSL's pre-match notes list San Jose at 13 wins, nine losses and 10 draws, with 49 points. The club says the Quakes are on track for their first MLS Cup Playoff appearance since 2023 and the first home playoff game in PayPal Park history. One more win would set a club record for points since the stadium opened in 2015.

Real Salt Lake needs the points more. RSL says it is ninth in the West at 12-14-6 with 42 points, one point behind Colorado and Seattle, with two games left. It comes in unbeaten in four after a come-from-behind 2-1 win at Austin on Wednesday. Guilavogui is suspended for yellow-card accumulation.

The teams drew 1-1 in Utah two weeks ago, when San Jose equalized late. The Quakes last played Wednesday, when they drew 2-2 with Colorado.

Halloween takeover

The Quakes are calling it the Monster Match, their first Halloween takeover at PayPal Park. The first 2,000 kids through the gates get chocolate bars, and a special ticket package includes a trick-or-treat pillowcase featuring the mascot, Q.

How to watch

The match streams on Apple TV, with Keith Costigan and Maurice Edu on the English call, RSL says.
