Halloween in the Castro is back on 18th Street this Saturday, Oct. 31. SFGuide reports the Castro Night Market's Halloween edition will bring local food vendors, merchants and live entertainment to 18th Street at Castro on Halloween night. The organizer, CG Events, takes RSVPs on its site.
Street closures
SFMTA says 18th Street will be closed to traffic for the celebration. SFGuide reports the closure covers 18th Street between Noe and Diamond from 11 a.m. Saturday to 1 a.m. Sunday, and that cross streets stay open.
Muni changes
The 33 Ashbury/18th Street will be rerouted around the event. According to SFGuide, the reroute runs from 11 a.m. until the end of service via Sanchez, 16th and Market, so inbound buses miss the 18th Street stops at Noe, Castro and Eureka, and outbound buses miss Castro, Noe and Sanchez.
Other Halloween closures
SFMTA lists two more neighborhood closures on Halloween:
- Halloween on Cortland: Streets in Bernal Heights close to cars in the evening to make room for trick-or-treaters. The 24 Divisadero will be rerouted.
- River of Life Halloween: An annual block party runs from noon to 10 p.m. on one block of Sunnydale Avenue. The 8 Bayshore and 56 Rutland will be rerouted.
Clocks fall back an hour at 2 a.m. Sunday, as daylight saving time ends.
