Monday, Oct. 19, is the last day to register to vote — or update your registration — for California's Nov. 3 general election, according to the Secretary of State's key dates calendar.

Register or check your status at sos.ca.gov or your county elections site. Forms postmarked by Oct. 19 are accepted.

Missed the deadline?

Same-day registration, also called conditional voter registration, runs from Oct. 20 through Election Day, Nov. 3. Eligible citizens can register or re-register and vote a provisional ballot at their county elections office, a polling place or a vote center. The ballot is counted after the county verifies the registration, the Secretary of State says.

Already registered?

Most Californians already received a vote-by-mail ballot. Track it at WheresMyBallot.sos.ca.gov. Mail ballots must be postmarked by Election Day and received by Nov. 10 to count.
