The World Series shifts to Tropicana Field for Game 3 on Monday at 5 p.m. Pacific (8 p.m. ET) on FOX, with the Milwaukee Brewers leading the Tampa Bay Rays 2-0, MLB.com reported.
The pitching matchup
- Rays: RHP Freddy Peralta. The ALCS MVP and longtime Brewers ace is 7-0 with a 0.89 ERA in his last 10 games since Aug. 26, and has a 1.45 ERA in seven starts at the Trop since Tampa Bay acquired him at the trade deadline, according to MLB.com.
- Brewers: LHP Robert Gasser. He began the year at Triple-A and has allowed one run in nine innings over two postseason starts, MLB.com said.
Where the series stands
Milwaukee has won both games by a combined two runs. Rookie shortstop Cooper Pratt's seventh-inning RBI single decided Game 2. Of the 57 teams to take a 2-0 World Series lead, 46 went on to win, MLB.com noted.
"Against Milwaukee, if you give up outs, they're gonna do that, they're gonna use that against you," Rays star Junior Caminero said.
Peralta is 2-0 with a 1.08 ERA this postseason, and Gasser will be the first left-handed starter the Rays face in the series, Yahoo Sports reported.
