Putter's Mini Golf, the outdoor course at South California Boulevard and Botelho Drive in Walnut Creek, will close for good after Sunday, Nov. 29.
Why
- The property is being redeveloped as Fairfield Centre Place South. Plans shown to the Walnut Creek Design Review Commission on June 17 call for a seven-story building with 172 rental apartments above a three-level garage.
- 26 of those units would be affordable for low- and moderate-income households.
About the course
- Owners Sean and Carolyn started it as a pandemic-era pop-up in an empty Locust Street courtyard, before moving to the current site.
- They have looked for a new location but have not found an affordable one. They hope to reopen elsewhere.
- Nearly all the course fixtures, including greens, bricks, clubs, signs and lights, are being sold to the highest bidder, with pickup the first week of December.
- Customers with gift cards are encouraged to use them before the closure.
