San Francisco got 58 points in the WCC coaches' preseason poll. That's third, behind Santa Clara (81) and Saint Mary's (70), and just ahead of Seattle U (54) and Pacific (53). USF says it is the second straight year, and the fourth time in five years, that the Dons were picked third.
Newbury is back
Graduate forward Ndewedo Newbury was named to the 10-player preseason all-conference team. He missed all of last season with an injury. In 2024-25, before a season-ending injury in December, he started 11 games and averaged 8.4 points and 4.3 rebounds in 24.1 minutes. USF has had a player on the preseason team three years in a row.
A lot of new faces
USF has 14 newcomers this season. The Dons went 17-16 last season, their fifth straight winning season.
Schedule
USF opens the regular season Monday, Nov. 2, against Radford. Conference play starts Jan. 2. The WCC tournament is March 5-9, 2027, at Orleans Arena in Las Vegas.
