The Los Angeles-based salads, bowls and wraps chain first announced plans for Emeryville more than two years ago, according to The E'ville Eye. A company representative told the Emeryville outlet that, “if all goes according to plan,” the grand opening is Tuesday, Nov. 17.
Free meals and a food bank donation
Nosh reported that Sweetgreen is inviting the public to try a complimentary meal on Friday, Nov. 13, and Saturday, Nov. 14, before the grand opening. Participants need the Sweetgreen app, and The E'ville Eye said registration through the company's Eventbrite page is required. For every meal sold on opening day, Sweetgreen will donate a meal to the Alameda County Community Food Bank. Grand opening festivities will include giveaways.
The menu will include Sweetgreen staples such as the Crispy Rice Bowl and Miso Glazed Salmon, plus the chain's newer wraps, according to The E'ville Eye.
