It's Cardinal vs. Cardinals on Halloween. Stanford closes October at Louisville on Saturday, Oct. 31. Kickoff is 12:15 p.m. Pacific (3:15 p.m. Eastern) on ACC Network.

The setting

Louisville's game center lists the game at L&N Federal Credit Union Stadium as the Cardinals' homecoming. The last meeting, on Nov. 16, 2024, went to Stanford, 38-35.

The road problem

Stanford Athletics says the team has lost 14 straight road games. That's the longest streak in program history and the longest active road losing streak in FBS. Stanford's last road win was its first ACC game, 26-24 at Syracuse on Sept. 20, 2024.

The splits are stark. In its four wins this season, Stanford averages 34 points and 485.5 yards. In its four losses, it averages 5.8 points and 233.8 yards.

Players to watch

Running back Micah Ford ran for 150 yards against NC State and had 208 yards from scrimmage. It was his second straight game with at least 150 rushing yards. Stanford says he leads the nation in rushing over the last two weeks with 329 yards. He is the first Stanford running back with back-to-back 150-yard rushing and 200-yard scrimmage games since Bryce Love in 2017.

Quarterback Davis Warren is fifth in the ACC in passing yards. He threw for 234 yards and three touchdowns in the first half against NC State. He's also one of 13 FBS quarterbacks with at least 200 pass attempts and two or fewer interceptions.
