Where to trick-or-treat

The Signal's list of locals' picks starts with the McDonald Avenue historic district, "the classic, with crowds to match." Coffey Park, Kawana Springs and Skyhawk are also busy. Luther Burbank Gardens, Copperfield and the Bennett Valley side streets are calmer choices for little kids. Most neighborhoods run from about 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The city's own Halloween at Howarth was held Oct. 24.
