San Jose police have arrested two Oakland men in a May 31 shooting in downtown San Jose that killed one man and injured two others.
The shooting
Officers responded around 2:19 a.m. to South First and East Reed streets.
They found a Porsche that had crashed into the front of The Fay apartment tower, with three injured men inside.
Two of the men had been shot, and one of them later died. The third was hurt in the crash.
Investigators believe the shots were fired near the City Center Motel before the shooters drove off.
The arrests
Homicide detectives used the city's automated license plate reader cameras to identify Cameron Haynes, 21, and Samuel Jordan, 23.
Jordan was arrested in Oakland on Oct. 8 with help from San Jose's Covert Response Unit.
Haynes was already in the Contra Costa County jail in Martinez on an unrelated case.
Both men were arrested on suspicion of crimes including murder and attempted murder.
Police announced the arrests on Friday. Arrests are not convictions.
