A vehicle crashed into a building on the 2800 block of Francisco Street on Russian Hill Saturday night, rupturing a gas line and prompting a temporary shelter-in-place order, the San Francisco Fire Department said.
Why it matters: Gas leaks in dense neighborhoods can force evacuations. This one was contained the same night.
What happened
The crash happened between Larkin and Polk streets. Two adults were evaluated for minor injuries and did not need hospital care, NBC Bay Area reports.
PG&E crews shut off the leak, and the building was assessed.
Fire officials lifted the shelter order late Saturday. Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
