The AP called Prop 1 at 10:58 p.m. and Prop 2 at 9:42 p.m. Tuesday, according to KQED. ABC7 showed Prop 1 at 59% Yes (4,506,137 votes) and Prop 2 at 60% Yes (4,516,870).

Prop 1: Housing bond

The Veterans and Affordable Housing Bond Act sets aside $10 billion for affordable housing and related infrastructure and $1.25 billion for the CalVet Home Loan Program. KQED cites the Legislative Analyst's Office estimate that the money could support up to 40,000 rental units and help 40,000 families buy homes.

Prop 2: Rainy day fund

Prop 2 raises the maximum size of the Budget Stabilization Account from 10% to 20% of general fund tax revenue. It also exempts deposits from the state spending limit and lets money set aside for paying debts cover more types of loans.

All results are unofficial election-night and early-morning counts as of Wednesday, Nov. 4. Counties keep counting mail and provisional ballots for days, and certification comes later, so margins can shift, especially in close contests.
