Authorities have identified the motorcyclist who died after a solo crash in Petaluma this month as Gary Wyatt, 45, of Willits.
The crash happened around 8:30 p.m. Oct. 15 on Cypress Drive at South McDowell Boulevard. Police said the rider may have struck the raised median. Wyatt was hospitalized and died of his injuries on Oct. 17.
Petaluma police Sgt. Mario Giomi said speed was likely a factor. Investigators are still looking at whether drugs, alcohol or a mechanical failure played a role, according to the Press Democrat and SFGate.
No other vehicles were reported to be involved.
