A crash knocked down a utility pole on Golden Gate Drive near the Sonoma-Napa county line Sunday afternoon, closing the road and leaving nearly 1,000 PG&E customers without power, The Press Democrat reported.
A vehicle drifted off the road and hit the pole, Napa Police Sgt. Dominic Deguilio said. A second vehicle coming the other way couldn't brake in time and struck the fallen pole. No injuries were reported.
- Closure: Golden Gate Drive in both directions from Imola Avenue to Foster Road.
- Outage: reported to PG&E around 1:20 p.m. Sunday. The utility estimated power would be back by 4 a.m. Monday.
Silverado Trail crash on Wednesday
Four days earlier, on Oct. 21, an SUV knocked down a power pole on Silverado Trail in Napa County, the San Francisco Chronicle reported. That crash left live wires hanging over the road and more than 1,000 PG&E customers without power. CHP closed the road between Zinfandel Lane and Pope Street and told drivers to use Highway 29.
