The Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District runs Los Gatos and Saratoga high schools and serves students from Los Gatos, Monte Sereno and Saratoga. Three of its five trustee seats are up this year, but only one is contested.
Trustee Area 2
Voters in Trustee Area 2 will choose between Sangeeta Balachandran Mallik and Ishaan Prasad. Neither is an incumbent, according to Ballotpedia.
- Mallik is a psychologist with a PhD from the University of Miami, according to the biographical information she gave Ballotpedia's candidate survey.
- Prasad is a Saratoga High School graduate with a bachelor's degree from UCLA and lists his profession as education advocate, according to his Ballotpedia survey.
The uncontested seats
The League of Women Voters of Southwest Santa Clara Valley notes that Areas 3 and 4 each drew only one candidate, so Shawn Mortensen (Area 3) and Steven Chen (Area 4) win automatically. The League held a candidate forum for the Area 2 race on Oct. 15. Board members serve four-year terms.
