Three Burlingame City Council seats are on the Nov. 3 ballot: Districts 1, 3 and 5. Only District 3 is contested.

District 3: Faber vs. Wettan

Howard Wettan is listed on the ballot as "City Commissioner/Attorney." He has served about 10 years on the Burlingame Traffic Safety and Parking Commission, including three terms as chair, the Burlingame-Hillsborough Times reported, citing his campaign profile. He also says he has served about five years on the Parks and Recreation Commission and about 15 years overseeing school bond spending.

Jen Faber is listed as "Education Foundation Director." She is president of the Burlingame Community for Education Foundation. Her campaign says she helped secure a $3.21 million grant for Burlingame schools for 2026-27 and led an effort starting in 2024 to give schools more than $3.4 million a year.

Uncontested seats

  • District 1: Vice Mayor Andrea Pappajohn is running unopposed for a full term ending in 2030.
  • District 5: Councilmember Peter Stevenson is running unopposed.

The city and the League of Women Voters held a candidate forum for all three districts at City Hall on Oct. 6.
