Two big weekend closures ended early Monday, Oct. 26, but several overnight projects continue this week. Here's a rundown from Caltrans District 4.
Reopened
- Westbound I-80 (Bayshore Freeway), San Francisco: The weekend closure to apply polyester concrete was finished at 3:32 a.m. Monday, several hours early. All lanes and ramps are open.
- SR-37, Vallejo to Sears Point: The 55-hour full closure for median demolition and k-rail installation was scheduled to end at 5 a.m. Monday. The work shifts traffic so crews can raise parts of the eastbound lanes by 3 feet to reduce flooding.
This week, overnight
- US-101, San Rafael: Lane closures in both directions from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. through the morning of Oct. 31, plus some ramp closures, for preventive maintenance repaving.
- SR-92/US-101, San Mateo: Nightly closures through Friday, Oct. 30, of the westbound 92 loop to southbound 101, the northbound 101 off-ramp to East Hillsdale Boulevard and the Fashion Island Boulevard on-ramp to southbound 101, with posted detours. The work is part of a $45 million interchange project.
Coming up
- Southbound US-101 Hospital Curve, SF: Full weekend closure between Cesar Chavez and 17th Street from 11 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, to 6 a.m. Monday, Nov. 9. Northbound stays open. Caltrans suggests using southbound I-280.
- SR-37: Overnight secondary closures are scheduled for Nov. 13 and 15, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., to move traffic onto the eastbound side.
