San Francisco-based Anthropic has launched Claude Duet, an AI agent that works in the background, sends a morning brief and drafts work for users to approve. It is a research preview on a waitlist for Claude Pro and Max subscribers in the US.
Why it matters: It puts Anthropic head to head with personal AI agents from Meta (Muse) and OpenAI (Dots), TechCrunch reported.
What it does
- Flags what needs attention in your inbox and calendar and drafts replies, Anthropic says.
- Handles small-business chores like finding unpaid invoices, preparing payroll for review and getting contracts ready.
- Builds briefs, decks and dashboards.
Duet runs on the Claude Opus 5.5 model in its own virtual machine and can connect to more than 6,000 connectors and plug-ins, TechCrunch reported. It can make purchases through Stripe's Link or Shopify's Shop Pay, but payments need user approval, and it will not trade securities or move money between accounts.
Limits
Team and Enterprise plans are not included yet. Duet shares a plan's usage limits with the rest of Claude, and its background checks count toward them, Anthropic says.
It is available as an iOS and Android app and on the web at claude.ai.
